Job Summary
As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a crucial role in providing tailored education and support to students with disabilities, ensuring they have equal opportunities for learning and growth.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs
- Create engaging lesson plans that accommodate various learning styles and abilities
- Utilize behavioral therapy techniques to address behavioral challenges and promote positive behavior
- Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and other educators to support student progress
- Assess students' abilities and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
- Provide instruction in core subjects such as math, language arts, and social skills
- Foster a safe and inclusive learning environment that promotes emotional well-being and academic success
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field
- CA State certification or licensure in Special Education
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs
- Proficiency in creating and implementing IEPs
- Strong understanding of childhood development principles
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with students, families, and colleagues
- Moderate to Severe Credentials
Pay: $65.00 - $75.00 per hour
