Overview
We are seeking compassionate and energetic Direct Support Professionals to join our team. In this vital role, you will empower individuals with disabilities to live fulfilling lives by providing personalized care, assistance with daily activities, and emotional support. Your dedication will help promote independence, safety, and well-being for our clients in a supportive environment.
Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Monitor and observe patients’ health status, including vital signs and overall condition, ensuring safety at all times
- Support medication administration following HIPAA regulations and care plans to ensure proper patient care
- Prepare nutritious meals, assist with cooking, and maintain cleanliness in client living spaces to promote a healthy environment
- Engage clients in social activities and community outings to foster social skills and independence
- Document care activities accurately in compliance with HIPAA standards and update care plans regularly
- Respond promptly to emergency situations, including administering first aid or CPR when needed
Requirements
- Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care settings is highly preferred
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care (including Alzheimer’s and memory care), autism support, and hospice care is advantageous
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training are a plus
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physical tasks associated with patient monitoring and mobility assistance
- Strong communication skills with a compassionate attitude toward individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs including autism or dementia is highly valued
- Valid background check clearance and willingness to adhere to all safety protocols

Pay: $23.41 - $25.00 per hour
