Sutter Metals is a busy metal recycling facility located in Tacoma, WA and is currently looking for a non-ferrous metal purchaser and warehouse attendant. This position requires strong customer service orientation and attention to details.
Shift Available:
- Monday - Friday: 230pm - 11pm
POSITION DETAILS:
- Responsible for grading and weighing non-ferrous material at yard, using drop scales. Training and continued education provided.
- Using forklifts to situate bins/material.
- Maintaining customer relations - VERY customer orientated.
Grading non-ferrous correctly to ensure customers are paid accurately.
- Weighing materials and noting weights for customer payouts by front office.
- Sorting materials into proper storage containers (gaylords, metal bins)
- Interacting with the public in a friendly and courteous manner.
- Communicating effectively with office and yard staff to assist customers.
- General yard labor includes maintaining a clear working area, directing customers and moving containers/material using equipment such as a forklift.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience with non-ferrous materials preferred
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand on feet for long periods of time
- Basic computer skills
- Experience with forklifts (or larger equipment) preferred
