Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing a variety of meals by following detailed recipes and portioning guidelines
- Operate kitchen equipment such as slicers, mixers, ovens, and food processors safely and efficiently
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment to uphold food safety standards
- Slice, chop, and assemble ingredients using proper knife skills and slicing techniques
- Support menu planning by preparing ingredients needed for daily meal service
- Ensure proper food handling procedures are followed to prevent contamination and ensure safety
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and maintain smooth workflow during busy periods
Qualifications
- Prior experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable
- Demonstrated food preparation and cooking skills within a food industry or restaurant setting
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and adherence to safety standards in production environments
- Experience with menu planning, recipe adherence, and meal preparation processes
- Ability to operate various kitchen equipment safely and effectively
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with kitchen staff
- Familiarity with cleaning procedures, sanitation standards, and proper food handling techniques
- Catering or serving experience is a plus, showcasing versatility in food service roles
