Responsibilities:
- Conduct individual and group therapy sessions with clients using evidence-based therapeutic techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT).
- Develop and implement treatment plans based on client needs and goals.
- Provide crisis intervention and support to clients experiencing acute mental health issues.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, to coordinate comprehensive care for clients.
- Conduct assessments and evaluations to diagnose mental health disorders and develop appropriate treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records such as progress notes in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
- Stay informed about current research and best practices in the field of mental health therapy.
- Provide education and support to clients' families to promote understanding and involvement in the treatment process.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in counseling, social work, or a related field.
- Current licensure or certification as a mental health therapist (e.g., Licensed Social Worker, Licensed Clinical Social Worker). Clinical supervision provided for those obtaining their clinical hours for licensure toward LCSW.
- Strong knowledge of therapeutic techniques, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), positive psychology, and crisis intervention.
- Familiarity with psychopharmacology and the ability to collaborate effectively with psychiatrists regarding medication management.
- Understanding of mental health systems, including knowledge of ICD-10 codes for accurate diagnosis and billing purposes.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with clients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals.
- Ability to provide compassionate patient care while maintaining professional boundaries.
- Experience working with individuals who have experienced trauma or have post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is preferred.
