POSITION SUMMARYThe Art Designer is responsible for creating visually appealing and effective sign designs that
communicate messages, promote brands, and enhance customer experience. The role involves
collaborating with clients, sales teams, and production staff to develop sign concepts, prepare artwork,
and ensure designs meet technical specifications.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design signs, banners, vehicle graphics, storefront displays, and wayfinding systems
- Create digital artwork using graphic design software such as: Adobe Illustrator, Adobe
Photoshop, and CorelDRAW
- Develop concepts that align with client branding and marketing goals
- Prepare production-ready files for printing, cutting, engraving, or fabrication
- Select appropriate typography, colors, layouts, and materials
- Review proofs and make revisions based on client feedback
- Coordinate with production teams to ensure design feasibility and quality
- Maintain design standards and project documentation
- Stay updated on design trends, sign manufacturing techniques, and industry regulations
REQUIREMENTS SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in graphic design or a similar creative role
- Strong portfolio demonstrating design skills
- Understanding color theory, typography, and layout principles
- Collaboration with sales representatives, project managers, and production
- Strong communication and project management skills
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift materials up to 25 pounds (lbs)
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, twist, manual dexterity, and reach overhead
PREFERRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field
- Knowledge of large-format printing and sign fabrication processes
- Experience with vinyl cutting, CNC routing, or digital printing
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Office or design studio environment with occasional visits to production
· Ability to perform duties in a setting with exposure to painting fumes, chemicals, and industrial equipment · Manufacturing environment may be dusty, noisy, and non-temperature controlled · Exposure to adhesives, chemicals, and fabrication equipment · Environment containing flammable products · Use of PPE including safety shoes and safety glasses required
