Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures, ensuring smooth and efficient workflows
- Perform animal restraint and handling with confidence, ensuring safety for both animals and staff
- Conduct laboratory tests, prepare samples, and interpret results to aid in accurate diagnoses
- Maintain aseptic techniques during procedures to prevent infection and ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians
- Perform dental procedures and understand dental terminology and assist with pet dental care.
- Manage animal husbandry tasks including feeding, cleaning, grooming, and monitoring health status
- Operate diagnostic equipment such as X-ray machines and assist with radiographic procedures involving animal anatomy knowledge
- Assist with specialized procedures such as animal catheterization, laboratory testing, or veterinary critical care when needed
Skills
- Proven animal experience combined with animal husbandry skills to care for hospitalized animals effectively
- Strong understanding of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, and anatomy for accurate communication and procedure execution
- Experience working with dogs and cats.
- Proficiency in laboratory techniques, X-ray operation, and aseptic procedures to support diagnostic processes
- Excellent dog handling skills along with animal restraint expertise to ensure safety during examinations or treatments
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in veterinary emergency care situations while maintaining attention to detail
- Familiarity with veterinary technician responsibilities such as assisting in surgeries, administering medications, and maintaining detailed medical records

Pay: $19.00 - $25.00 per hour
