Position Overview
Rush Pharmacy TX is seeking a dedicated Certified Pharmacy Technician to join our production team. This position is focused primarily on prescription filling and production activities, serving as a key member of our compounding pharmacy operations. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail and experience in high-volume prescription processing.
Primary Responsibilities
- Prescription Processing & Filling (Primary Focus - 80% of role)
- Accurately fill and label prescription medications according to physician orders
- Verify prescription information for completeness and accuracy
- Maintain daily production quotas and quality standards
- Perform final checks before pharmacist verification
- Compounding Support (After training and as needed)
- Assist with sterile and non-sterile compounding preparations
- Prepare ointments, creams, capsules, and specialized dosage forms
- Follow USP guidelines and maintain proper documentation
- Ensure proper storage and labeling of compounded medications
- Inventory & Operations
- Monitor medication inventory levels and assist with ordering
- Receive and properly store pharmaceutical products
- Maintain clean and organized work areas
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures
Required Qualifications:
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1-2 years pharmacy experience preferred
- Knowledge of pharmacy software systems
- Strong mathematical and computer skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in compounding pharmacy environment
- Sterile compounding certification (or willingness to obtain)
What We Offer:
Pay: $21.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
