Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare, dispense, and compound medications including sterile IV infusions and aseptic preparations following strict sterile technique protocols.
- Manage pharmaceutical calculations to ensure correct dosages and medication administration.
- Utilize pharmacy software systems for data entry, prescription processing, and inventory management to streamline workflow.
- Maintain patient confidentiality while handling sensitive medical information in compliance with state and federal healthcare regulations.
- Assist with medication intake, inventory control, and drug regulation adherence to ensure pharmacy operations meet all legal standards.
- Support patient service initiatives by providing clear medication instructions and addressing patient inquiries with professionalism and empathy.
- Ensure pharmaceutical regulatory compliance during all pharmacy activities, including drug regulation adherence and documentation of compounding procedures.
- Participate in clinical pharmacy tasks such as medication reconciliation, pharmacological terminology application, and acute care support when required.
Experience
- Prior experience working as a pharmacy technician in hospital pharmacy, or community pharmacy settings is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of pharmaceutical calculations, drug regulation laws, and medical terminology relevant to pharmacy practice.
- Experience with IV infusion preparation, sterile compounding techniques, and aseptic procedures is essential.
- Familiarity with pharmacy software systems used for prescription processing and inventory management is required.
- Proven ability to maintain patient confidentiality while adhering to state healthcare regulations and pharmacy laws.
- Critical care or acute care experience enhances your suitability for this role by demonstrating your ability to handle complex medication regimens efficiently.
- Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) from an accredited organization is mandatory; BLS (Basic Life Support) certification is a plus.
