Job Summary
Join our dynamic healthcare team as a dedicated RN/LVN Charge Nurse working the overnight shift from 6pm to 6am. Duties
- Lead and supervise nursing staff during the overnight shift, ensuring efficient workflow and exceptional patient care.
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medication administration.
- Manage complex care needs such as IV infusion, catheterization, airway management, and pain control for residents with diverse medical conditions.
- Oversee documentation using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
- Coordinate interdisciplinary communication for residents with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, memory care needs, or those requiring hospice or palliative care.
- Respond promptly to urgent situations including acute pain episodes, infectious disease concerns, or emergency trauma cases; provide first aid and assist with ventilator management when necessary.
- Ensure infection control protocols are strictly followed and maintain aseptic techniques during all clinical procedures.
Experience
- Valid RN or LVN license with current state licensure required; experience working with geriatric patients preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in EMR/EHR systems
- Prior experience in long-term care facilities, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, or home & community care settings preferred.
- Knowledge of dementia and Alzheimer's care practices along with experience managing complex medication regimens including tube feeding and IV therapy.
- Strong understanding of physiology, anatomy, and diagnostic evaluation techniques relevant to senior and special needs populations.
- Excellent caregiver communication skills with a focus on patient assessment, client engagement, and family support in accordance with HIPAA confidentiality policies.
