This shift would be from 2pm until 6pm Mon-Fri.
We are looking for a mindful part-time Assistant Toddler Teacher to work in our beautiful, vibrant preschool. Under the direction of our Lead Teachers our Toddler classrooms use the Montessori philosophy as a guide to create an intentional, warm, and respectful care and learning environment for young children. Your role will be to work with a team of teachers to help foster this intentional approach, inspire creativity, and create consistency throughout the day that adds to a holistic atmosphere. The Assistant Teacher is a partner in the implementation of a quality early childhood education experience for each child enrolled in our program.
Part-time employees are eligible for a subsidized bus pass, and several paid breaks and holidays a year, including but not limited to a week off in Spring, a week off in Summer, and a week off in Winter. Eligibility for closure pay comes after 90 days of employment, but holiday pay kicks in immediately.
Responsibilities may include:
- Intentional warm interactions with children, coworkers, and families.
- Portioning and serving meals
- Observing child interactions
- Communicating with coworkers throughout the day.
- Carry out all preparation and clean up responsibilities associated with role.
- Being flexible and able to respond to matters quickly and calmly.
Qualifications:
- Ability to get up and down off the floor repeatedly throughout the day.
- High School diploma required.
- One or more years’ classroom experience is preferred, but not mandatory.
- Experience with young children preferred.
- Infant/Child & Adult CPR and First Aid (Need within 30 days and we can help with this.)
- 30 hour Child Care Basics (completed within 90 days of hire)
- DCYF Portable Background check (started prior to start date)
- Infant Safe Sleep training. (completed prior to start date)
- TB test (completed prior to start date)
- Proof of MMR vaccine (needed before start)

Pay: $21.50 - $23.00 per hour
