Summary:
To provide a variety of standardized clerical tasks necessary for day-to-day operation of the church administration. This worker serves as receptionist, a reporting secretary, a data entry person, administrative assistant, a purchasing agent, publisher, and office manager
General
· The Office Manager interacts with church staff, committee chairpersons, other members of the congregation, and representatives of other public and private entities in furnishing or obtaining information.
· Applies general office, organizational and inter-personal relationship skills toward the operation of the church administration on a day-to-day basis
· Receives general instructions and primary supervision from the senior pastor with detailed instructions given for new procedures or assignments
· Requires considerable judgment and accuracy when compiling and entering data, proof-reading and publishing, as well as interacting with other persons.
· Work is occasionally reviewed by the pastor for accuracy, attainment of objectives, completeness, and conformance with church policy
Essential Job Functions
1. Receive staff and visitors to the church.
2. Prepare and/ or distribute various communications such as bulletins, newsletters, special advertisements and letters.
3. Maintain church membership records
4. Manage use of office and equipment
5. Purchase needed church supplies:
6. Maintain church use calendar, building requests and assist with special events as necessary.
7. Manage the church’s social media and website communications.
8. Other duties as assigned.
Education and or Experience:
· Ability to accurately perform arithmetic calculations
· Ability to type at a minimum rate of 40 wpm with a high degree of accuracy
· Ability to input data into a personal computer
· Working knowledge of standard office practices and procedures
· High School degree or equivalent

· Ability to hear and comprehend ordinary telephone and recording device conversations
Computer Equipment and Software Requirements:
· Must be proficient with a computer. Practical experience with Microsoft Office, email, church management software and similar applications
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to move freely in and out of the office. Specific vision abilities are required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to focus. Must have excellent command of the English language and grammar, both verbal and written. Work may require lifting office supplies, books and equipment up to forty pounds. Stretching, reaching and/or the use of a step stool may be required to place or recover stored items. Agile, repetitive, and prolonged movement of arms, wrists, and fingers are required to perform data entry and calculator functions. Normal vision and hearing acuity are required to read and work with data and to use the telephone and/or to interact with other staff and the public. Work will require some walking, carrying of light loads, negotiation of flights of stairs.
Hours, Compensation and Benefits
● Hours of Employment:
o Monday – Thursday 9:00 AM 2:00 PM
o Hours- 20 hours per week
o Attendance at a weekly staff meeting.
● Compensation:
o Payable on the 15th and 30th of each month.
● Benefits:
o Employees become eligible for one week of vacation after completing one year of employment. Allotted vacation can grow to three weeks annually as defined by Employee Handbook.
o Ten paid holidays – Paid holidays for this position include: New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Good Friday, Day after Easter, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Day after Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day,
Paid sick leave accumulated at the rate of 1 day per month of employment but not to exceed 15 days accumulated per year.

Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
