Job Summary
The Warehouse Receiver is responsible for receiving all incoming shipments, verifying the accuracy and condition of received items, and scanning inventory into the warehouse management system. This role is essential to maintaining accurate inventory records, keeping the warehouse organized, and ensuring smooth coordination of both inbound and outbound shipments.
Duties
- Receive all incoming shipments from UPS, FedEx, USPS, freight carriers, and other delivery services.
- Verify received items against packing slips, purchase orders, and other shipping documents.
- Inspect incoming merchandise for damage, shortages, or discrepancies and report any issues promptly.
- Scan and accurately receive inventory into the warehouse management system using RF scanners or other handheld devices.
- Label, sort, and organize incoming inventory into the appropriate warehouse locations.
- Assist in maintaining an organized, clean, and efficient warehouse.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers to ensure scheduled pickups occur on time.
- Ensure all outgoing packages are staged properly and loaded onto carrier vehicles for pickup.
- Assist with inventory organization, cycle counts, and general warehouse operations.
- Work closely with warehouse team members and supervisors to ensure efficient daily operations.
- Perform other warehouse duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Experience
- Previous warehouse receiving or inventory experience is preferred.
- Experience working in a warehouse or distribution center environment.
- Familiarity with e-commerce operations is a plus.
- Experience using RF scanners or warehouse management systems.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately verify shipments.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for inventory counts.
- Good organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to safely lift, move, and handle warehouse materials and work in a fast-paced environment.
