American Traveler is hiring a Charge Nurse RN for a Long Term Care position requiring an active SD or compact RN license and at least 1 year of experience.

Work in a Long Term Care (LTC) setting providing charge nurse coverage
-
Provide general nursing care to residents and supervise Nursing Assistants
-
Varied day and evening shift schedule
-
13-week assignment with 40 guaranteed hours
-
Active SD or compact RN license required
-
Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required

BLS certification required

Skilled in IV therapy including initiating IVs, administering initial medications, and managing central lines and catheters
-
Perform nursing assessments and develop resident care plans based on nursing diagnoses
-
Coordinate with physicians and family members to ensure resident care needs are met
-
Administer and chart routine and emergency medications and treatments
-
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation for continuity of care
-
Follow safety and infection control procedures to maintain a safe environment
-
Serve as primary point of contact on assigned shift and supervise resident assistants
-
Participate in facility Quality Management program as part of the interdisciplinary team
