Proven experience in construction management within water utilities or related heavy civil projects.
Strong knowledge of pipeline installation, construction scheduling, blueprint reading, and technical drawing review.
Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Water Foreman to lead and oversee water utility construction and maintenance projects. In this vital role, you will coordinate crews, manage daily operations on construction sites, ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and deliver high-quality results that support our community’s water infrastructure. Your leadership will drive project success from planning through execution, fostering teamwork, safety, and efficiency at every stage.
Duties

· Oversee and assign daily work to utility workers, equipment operators and laborers; plan, schedule work; set objectives; instruct work procedures; review work and appraise performance.
· Locate water lines; install water taps; install, maintain, and repair main water lines, service lines, fire hydrants, main valves meters, etc.
· Read meters and ensure the accuracy of others reading meters.
· Gather water samples for testing.
· Keep detailed records and make reports.
· Maintain the operation of pump equipment and perform regular checks; read main meter for state reports.
· Perform routine maintenance on light motorized equipment.
· Work to maintain, repair, rehabilitate and improve buildings.
· Operate various types of heavy and light equipment as necessary.
· Perform duties of Water Utility Director in his absence.
· Perform work of subordinates in their absence; other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of water system operation, principles of construction, maintenance and rehabilitation of plumbing and water pipe system.
- Knowledge of town, state and federal laws, rules, and regulations relating to water systems.
- Ability to keep records, prepare reports or forms, direct the work of others using principles and practices of supervision.
- Ability to evaluate situations and make decisions and to express ideas clearly, concisely and convincingly and to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with the public and other employees.
- Prior commercial or municipal water utility construction experience highly preferred.

Pay: $56,344.29 - $67,613.16 per year
