About Prohibition
Prohibition is a 21+ restaurant, cocktail bar and live entertainment venue in Murray. We serve brunch and dinner alongside an extensive cocktail and spirits program in a 1920s-inspired speakeasy atmosphere.
Our service is polished and knowledgeable without being formal or stuffy. We value many of the skills associated with fine dining, including strong food and beverage knowledge, attention to detail, proper pacing and anticipation of guest needs, while maintaining a warm and approachable style of hospitality.
The Position
We're looking for experienced servers who understand that great service is more than taking an order and checking back on a table.
Our strongest servers know how to read their guests. They recognize when someone wants recommendations and conversation, when a table needs something before being asked, and when guests simply want to enjoy each other's company.
You'll be expected to learn our food, cocktails, spirits and wine offerings and use that knowledge to make confident, personalized recommendations. Building sales is important, but we do it by helping guests have a better experience, not through scripted upselling.
Responsibilities
- Provide attentive, polished and personable service throughout the guest experience.
- Develop strong knowledge of our food, cocktails, spirits and wine.
- Learn guest preferences and make thoughtful food and beverage recommendations.
- Manage multiple tables while maintaining proper pacing and attention to detail.
- Anticipate guest needs through both verbal and nonverbal table awareness.
- Accurately enter orders, modifications, allergies and special requests using Toast POS.
- Communicate effectively with the kitchen, bar and support staff.
- Maintain tables through consistent pre-bussing and attention to presentation.
- Recognize service issues early and work to resolve them before they negatively affect the guest.
- Process payments accurately.
- Support other servers and restaurant staff as part of a team-oriented service environment.
- Follow Utah alcohol laws and DABS requirements.
Qualifications
- Must be 21 or older.
- 3+ years of full-service serving experience required.
- Current Utah Food Handler Permit and Sips & Tips certification required before beginning work.
- Upscale dining, fine-dining, craft cocktail or other high-level hospitality experience strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of spirits and cocktails.
- Working knowledge of wine service and presentation.
- Ability to confidently learn and discuss detailed food and beverage offerings.
- Strong table awareness, organization and time-management skills.
- Comfortable managing a busy section while maintaining service standards.
- Professional, personable and composed under pressure.
- Strong communication with both FOH and BOH teams.
- Knowledge of Utah alcohol laws and DABS regulations preferred.
- OpenTable experience is a plus.
Schedule
We are hiring for a combination of brunch and dinner shifts.
Saturday and Sunday availability is required. Additional weekday and evening availability is preferred.

Prohibition is a 21+ establishment.
Pay: $25.00 - $80.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20.0 – 36.0 per week
