Job Summary
As a proud certified Safe Feed/Safe Food facility, our manufacturing and quality assurance processes and standards exceed current industry regulations. In addition, this position must work in compliance with all the company policies, local, state, and federal policies, laws, and regulations. Primary duties will include the manufacturing of livestock feed and all related paperwork. Understanding the feed ingredients and proper handling techniques. Additional duties include loading/unloading trucks, customer service, grounds and equipment maintenance, warehouse maintenance, and other related feed production duties, forklift operation and commodity handling.
Other Duties/Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:
- Operate milling equipment to process materials according to specifications
- Monitor machinery during operation to ensure smooth functioning
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment to prevent breakdowns
- Inspect finished products for quality assurance
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines at all times
- Must be able to work independently and efficiently with little to no supervision
-Assist other mill employees with operating activities
- Accurately distribute feed directly to a customer’s vehicle or fulfill an order to go on a freight truck
-Cleaning to ensure safety protocols are met and to be able to pass inspection at any time
Skills and Qualifications
- Understand safe working conditions and operations of vehicles.
-Be willing and able to work well with others, to take and give constructive criticism, and to lend a helping hand.
-Must be flexible and able to multitask without any supervision.
- Experience in heavy equipment operation, preferably in food production or related industries is preferred
- Ability to operate forklifts and other industrial equipment is a plus
- Mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting and minor repairs
- Familiarity with food processing or farm operations is a plus
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma
-Previous manufacturing experience preferred, but not required.
Physical Demands
-Must be able to lift 50 pounds regularly
-Must be able to climb ladders and stairs
-Must be able to work in a fast paced production environment
-Ability to work in a dusty, cold, hot, humid environment and withstand exposure to seasonal weather conditions.
