Reproductive Partners Medical Group is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Andrologist/Lab Assistant to join the team at the Beverly Hills/Los Angeles location. This role supports the Andrologist/Lab Assistant laboratory through semen analysis, sperm processing, and a variety of laboratory procedures. The ideal candidate is committed to patient care, laboratory safety, and quality control. This position is M-F with rotating weekends and holidays.
Key Responsibilities
Semen Analysis and Processing
- Perform routine semen analyses, including assessment of concentration, motility, and morphology using automated analyzers and manual methods
- Prepare and process semen samples for procedures such as intrauterine insemination (IUI) and in vitro fertilization (IVF)
- Ensure accurate labeling and tracking of all specimens
Laboratory Support
- Learn and operate hormone analyzer systems (TOSOH AIA 900)
- Assist with maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment
- Prepare reagents as needed
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant laboratory environment
- Other duties as assigned
Quality Control
- Participate in quality control procedures to ensure accuracy and reliability of results
- Document and report deviations from standard operating procedures
- Support development and implementation of quality assurance protocols
- Participate in proficiency testing and submission of results
Patient Interaction
- Provide clear instructions to patients regarding sample collection
- Address patient questions with professionalism and empathy
- Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA guidelines
Administrative Duties
- Learn and utilize laboratory witnessing systems throughout processes
- Maintain accurate records of laboratory activities and patient interactions
- Assist with inventory management, including ordering and stocking supplies
- Support the andrology team with additional administrative tasks as needed
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Medical Technology, or a related field preferred; minimum 24 hours of biology science courses required
- Previous experience in a clinical laboratory setting highly desirable
- Experience in an andrology or fertility laboratory preferred
Skills and Competencies
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency with laboratory systems and basic computer applications
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to operate laboratory equipment
- Manual dexterity and visual acuity for detailed lab work
Work Environment
- Clinical andrology laboratory within a fertility clinic setting
- Must adhere to all safety, regulatory, and compliance standards
- Available for rotating weekends and holidays
