Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in their home on the weekend. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for residents by assisting with daily activities, ensuring their comfort, and promoting their independence. This role is vital in maintaining resident rights and dignity while providing personalized care.
Responsibilities
- Assist client with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide companionship and engage clients in social activities to promote mental and emotional well-being.
- Support clients in mobility, including lifting or transferring individuals safely as required.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents by following established protocols for hygiene and safety.
- Uphold resident rights by respecting their privacy, preferences, and choices in care.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to develop individualized care plans that meet the specific needs of each resident.
- Drive residents to appointments or social events when necessary.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in home care, preferred but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with systems related to personal care services is a plus.
- Ability to lift and assist residents safely while adhering to proper lifting techniques.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a compassionate approach to caregiving.
- Knowledge of resident rights and commitment to advocating for them.
- Valid driver's license may be required for transportation duties.
- Certification in CPR/First Aid is advantageous but not required at the time of application.
