Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Cashier/Sales Associate to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will provide excellent customer service, handle transactions accurately, and assist customers with their shopping experience. This role is vital in creating a welcoming environment and ensuring smooth store operations. Previous experience in retail sales and cashiering is preferred, along with strong communication skills and a positive attitude. Smoke shop experience preferred.
Duties
- Operate POS systems efficiently to process sales transactions accurately
- Greet customers warmly and assist with product inquiries
- Conduct product demos to promote merchandise and enhance customer engagement
- Upsell products and suggest additional items to increase sales
- Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves and organizing displays
- Assist with inventory management, including stock replenishment and inventory counts
- Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions with precision, ensuring proper cash handling procedures
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing questions and resolving issues promptly
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area to ensure a positive shopping experience
- Support team members in supervising store activities when needed
Experience
- Previous experience in smoke/tobacco store environments preferred
- Previous experience in retail sales or grocery store environments preferred
- Familiarity with POS systems and cashiering procedures
- Strong communication skills, including phone etiquette and bilingual abilities (preferred)
- Experience in upselling, merchandising, and product demonstrations is a plus
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and retail math calculations
- Supervising experience is advantageous but not required
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
