This position is ideal for an emergency medical technician who is truly interested in being part of a team and taking an active interest in the success of the organization. VEMS is looking for self-starting, committed individuals who would be at home in a smaller organization whose sole purpose is to serve the community.
Qualifications:
- An open and willing attitude. One who is receptive to assistance, suggestions, assigned projects, and who understands the importance of community relations and high morale among staff
- Self-starting, goal-oriented individual with ability to set a high standard and deliver on it
- A willingness to share the importance of a positive attitude with other staff
- Valid and current State of Connecticut Drivers License
- Valid and current Emergency Medical Technician Certification
- Valid and current Healthcare Provider BLS certification
- Physical ability required for the lifting and moving patients, equipment and other tasks inherent to the job of emergency medical technician
Must have minimum 2 years field experience and be at least 21 years old.
Duties:
- Provide exceptional clinical care in the pre-hospital environment
- Respond as required/directed.
- Complete high quality and thorough clinical documentation
- Complete thorough and accurate billing documentation
- Conduct themselves in a manner that is compliant with all relevant regulations, statutes ordinances and laws
- Conduct themselves in respectful, professional manner that is representative of high moral standing and character in all dealing with the public and other staff
- Ensure proper working order of their equipment and vehicle. Report failures promptly. Perform any other duties as assigned
- Abide by VEMS Code of Ethics
