Position Overview
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing basic repairs (plumbing, electrical, carpentry), assisting with preventative maintenance, and responding to resident repair requests. The Technician also performs apartment turn-over, groundskeeping, painting, and custodial maintenance within a 39-unit residential senior property.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform apartment turnover, including painting, basic plumbing, cabinetry, basic electrical, and general repairs to ensure timely readiness of units.
- Complete resident work orders promptly and efficiently, maintaining a high level of customer service.
- Perform custodial, landscaping, and snow removal tasks to maintain curb appeal and safety of the property.
- Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours emergencies (every 3 weeks).
- Foster a professional, respectful, and supportive environment for residents and staff.
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous experience, preferably in residential, multifamily, or senior living settings.
- General knowledge of maintenance practices, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting.
- Experience with custodial duties, landscaping, and snow removal.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Professional demeanor with the ability to work respectfully with diverse populations.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Must be able to participate in an on-call rotation.
- Must be flexible; able to travel between sites as needed.
- A valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, climbing ladders, and operating equipment.
- Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions.
