Golden Chick Cooks are responsible for preparing and cooking quality food in accordance with company recipes, food safety standards, and operational procedures. This position ensures food is prepared efficiently, maintains a clean and organized kitchen, and works with the team to provide guests with a high-quality dining experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, cook, and assemble menu items according to company recipes and quality standards.
- Operate kitchen equipment, including fryers, grills, ovens, and other food preparation equipment safely and efficiently.
- Prepare ingredients and complete daily food prep to ensure product availability throughout each shift.
- Monitor food quality, portion sizes, cooking times, and product freshness.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
- Maintain proper food storage, labeling, and inventory rotation using the first-in, first-out (FIFO) method.
- Keep kitchen workstations, equipment, and storage areas clean and organized.
- Restock food products, ingredients, and kitchen supplies as needed.
- Work efficiently with cashiers and other team members to ensure orders are prepared accurately and in a timely manner.
- Assist with opening and closing kitchen duties, including cleaning equipment and preparing the kitchen for the next shift.
- Report equipment malfunctions or food quality concerns to management.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining quality and accuracy.
- Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes and procedures.
- Previous cooking or restaurant experience is preferred but not required.
