Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide outstanding customer service throughout their shopping experience
- Assist customers with product selection, offering knowledgeable recommendations and product demos when appropriate
- Operate the cash register (POS system), handle retail sales transactions accurately, and process cash handling with precision
- Stock shelves, organize displays, and ensure merchandise is well-presented and replenished as needed
- Conduct product demos to educate customers about features and benefits, encouraging upselling opportunities
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sales floor, ensuring an inviting shopping environment
- Handle phone inquiries professionally, providing information or directing calls to appropriate team members
- Support merchandising efforts by arranging products attractively and ensuring proper signage is in place
Skills
- Proven experience with POS systems, cash register operations, and retail sales transactions
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively in English and bilingual capabilities are a plus
- Demonstrated supervising experience or leadership qualities to assist in guiding team members when needed
- Ability to perform basic math accurately for cash handling, retail math calculations, and balancing cash drawers
- Knowledge of retail store product knowledge, merchandising techniques, and inventory stocking procedures
- Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills to handle inquiries professionally
- Experience in upselling products to maximize sales opportunities
- Familiarity with grocery store or retail environment experience is advantageous but not required
