The Brazer I / Machinist I is an entry-level manufacturing position responsible for performing basic machining operations and brazing metal components in accordance with engineering drawings, work instructions, and quality standards. This position supports production by operating machine tools, assembling components, performing brazing operations, and inspecting finished parts while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
Perform manual and torch brazing of metal components and assemblies according to specifications.
Set up and operate basic machine shop equipment, including lathes, mills, drill presses, saws, and grinders.
Machine components to specified dimensions and tolerances using appropriate tooling and measuring instruments.
Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, work instructions, and process sheets.
Prepare parts for brazing by cleaning, fitting, assembling, and positioning components.
Select proper brazing alloys, filler metals, fluxes, and tooling for assigned work.
Inspect machined and brazed parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measuring equipment to verify compliance with specifications.
Deburr, finish, and clean machined parts prior to assembly or brazing.
Perform routine machine maintenance, tool changes, and equipment cleaning.
Maintain accurate production, inspection, and quality documentation.
Identify and report quality issues, equipment malfunctions, or safety concerns.
Follow all company safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Maintain a clean, organized work area using 5S and lean manufacturing principles.
Assist with other manufacturing and assembly operations as assigned.
