CNC Machinist – Mil
Location
- Southwick or Westfield, MA
Base Pay: $25–$37 per hour
Schedule
First Shift: Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
Second Shift: Monday–Friday | 3:30 PM–12:00 AM (25% Shift Differential)
Position Summary
We are hiring an experienced 4-5 axis CNC Mill Machinist to support aerospace manufacturing operations. This role involves machine setup, operation, inspection, and process adjustments to ensure parts are produced accurately and meet strict quality and tolerance requirements.
The ideal candidate will have a strong machining background, experience reading blueprints, and the ability to work independently in a production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC milling machines
- Read and follow blueprints, operation sheets, and work instructions
- Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections
- Verify dimensions using micrometers, calipers, indicators, and preset gages
- Enter tool offsets and make machine adjustments as needed
- Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and quality-related issues
- Maintain clean and organized work areas, tooling, and inspection equipment
- Operate multiple machines performing similar operations when required
- Perform routine machine maintenance and monitor machine performance
- Complete production and inspection documentation accurately
- Maintain compliance with AS9100 and ISO 9001 standards, including traceability and document revision requirements
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of CNC machining experience
- Experience performing complete machine setups and operation
- Aerospace manufacturing experience preferred
- Proficient with precision measuring instruments, including micrometers, calipers, and indicators
- Ability to install tooling and enter offsets at the machine control
- Experience machining precision components to close tolerances
- Basic computer proficiency
- Ability to travel between Southwick and Westfield facilities on an occasional basis
Physical Requirements
- Ability to read production documents and blueprints with or without corrective lenses
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds as needed
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, climb stairs, push, pull, and sit for extended periods throughout the workday
