American Traveler is seeking an experienced CVOR RN for a 13-week travel contract in Colorado, requiring open heart and/or endovascular experience and on-call availability.

Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) within a 16-suite OR department, including 3 dedicated CVOR suites
-
Common cases include open heart surgery, TAVR, open/endovascular procedures, and thoracic cases
-
Averages approximately 30 cases per day, including 1–2 open heart cases daily
-
8 OR techs support the CVOR team

RNs are required to scrub in to hold the heart and assist with chest closure
-
Charting performed in Epic (experience required)

12-hour day shifts, 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM (shift negotiable)

On-call required one weekday per week and one weekend per month (Friday, Saturday, Sunday), rotating with staff
-
30-minute call response time required; an on-site call room is available for staff who choose to stay nearby

Floating to General OR when no CVOR cases are scheduled; in cases of high need, may float within the local hospital zone

13-week contract, 36 hours per week

Active CO RN license or Compact (NLC) RN license currently in hand — pending licenses not accepted

Current BLS certification (AHA) required; ACLS preferred

Minimum 2 years of RN experience required

Open heart and/or endovascular OR experience required

Epic EMR experience required

Must reside more than 60 miles from the facility — a valid driver's license is required to verify permanent address

Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire

Copy of valid driver's license required for consideration

Candidates must not have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity Health facility within the past year; candidates placed PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered

One week of unit-specific orientation provided; clinicians must be on-site in the state for the full orientation week, even if initial modules are completed remotely

Hospital-provided scrubs (light blue) required

Holiday coverage is not required but is preferred if the clinician is available

Travelers are expected to float within the zone they are hired into and must secure housing that allows them to meet this floating requirement
