Why does the job exist?
The purpose of the Class and Compensation Analyst assist the Workforce Planning (WFP) team with HR functions. This position serves as the central intake for compensation and personnel actions. The position is responsible with the maintenance of the WFP Teams workflow processes.
How does it get done?
This position is responsible for:
- Reviewing classification and compensation personnel actions submitted by HR departments to ensure the actions and required documents are complete and in compliance with State Personnel Board Rules and Department of Finance and Administration guidelines.
- Logging and maintaining accurate records in the Workforce Planning Database.
- Overseeing the Workforce Planning email account, responding to agency requests and routing actions for final approval.
- Providing HR departments with status/pending actions reports.
- Provide Workforce Planning Team with HR administrative support.

Minimum Qualification
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management or Business Administration, Personnel Administration or Management and two (2) years of experience as it pertains to the essential duties and responsibilities of this classification. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience as it pertains to the essential duties and responsibilities of this classification totaling six (6) years may substitute for the required education and experience.
Employment Requirements
Must maintain a valid New Mexico driver's license. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification.
Working Conditions
Work is usually performed in an office setting, with extensive exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT), personal computer, tablet, printer, calculator, hole-punch, cellphone, copy machine, scanner, keyboard, and telephone usage. Some travel may be required.
