Position Summary
The Reliability Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of a dairy manufacturing facility by utilizing technology to make data driven decisions and implement robust solutions to systemically improve plant uptime. This position supports the production process by minimizing downtime, ensuring safety, and maintaining compliance with industry standards.
This position reports directly to the Reliability Engineering Manager and works closely with Plant Maintenance and Engineering personnel.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement solutions that address issues impacting equipment reliability.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and facilities to identify potential issues and ensure optimal operation.
- Work closely with Maintenance Technicians to train and lead troubleshooting events when necessary.
- Manage projects related to reliability improvement initiatives including scope development, planning, execution, closeout, and sustainability of improvements.
- Adhere to safety regulations, protocols, and company standards, including OSHA requirements, to maintain a safe working environment.
- Proactively recommend and assist with implementing improvements to maintenance procedures, standards, and policies.
- When requested, document project activities, inspections, and schedule, and report to appropriate stakeholders.
- Collaborate with other departments and maintenance team members to coordinate tasks and share knowledge.
- Develop training, progression strategies, and curriculum for maintenance and engineering leadership, reliability engineers, and maintenance technicians.
- Remain current with industry trends, best practices, and new technologies related to reliability engineering and maintenance.
- Respond to emergency situations as required, including instances that occur outside of normal working hours.
- Act as key technological resource in assisting with long-term equipment commissioning as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical certifications in electrical controls and diagnostics are highly desirable.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex problems.
- Prior experience in an industrial or food production facility, particularly in dairy manufacturing.
- Familiarity with the unique maintenance challenges and regulatory requirements in food production environments.
- Experience in using a CMMS to manage and prioritize maintenance tasks.
- Experience editing and creating PLC and HMI programs. (Allen Bradley/Rockwell Automation Preferred)
- Reliability Engineer Certification with accredited organization is preferred.

- Microsoft Office skills including advanced knowledge of Excel functionality and Excel addons for data analysis and presentation.
