Job Summary:
The Crane Inspector is responsible for performing OSHA-compliant inspections, preventative maintenance, and minor repairs on overhead cranes, hoists, and related lifting equipment at customer facilities. This role conducts detailed monthly and annual inspections, identifies safety and operational concerns, documents findings, and communicates recommended repairs to customers and internal teams.
Job Responsibilities:
- Performs documented OSHA monthly and annual hoist and crane inspections.
- You will be trained to perform documented safety inspections of specific types of equipment in keeping with OSHA guidelines.
- Understand and manage equipment data including serial numbers, model numbers and other important identifiers which will help to quote repairs and order replacement parts.
- Identify needed parts, repair procedures, communicate with the customer, interface with our engineering department and perform the repair.
- Clean, maintain and adjust crane hoisting mechanisms as well as other parts and features of the overhead crane.
- Repair and replace defective parts and equipment as needed.
- Test and evaluate mechanical and electrical operation.
- Lubricate and check oil levels as needed.
- Inspects crane for defective parts, notifies supervisor of defects or malfunctions.
- Discuss immediate safety and performance issues with the customer.
- Electronically document all inspections, services performed, and hours worked through inspection application on a tablet.
