We are seeking 2 certified foster care workers who are willing to provide 90 days of temporary case management services for children who are in foster care. This would include the following job duties that are listed below. We do offer some work from home opportunities, however 100% of our children must be seen in person in their respective placements. We are offering $25.40/hr. with a reimbursement on mileage.

PRN Foster Care Case Manager – DeKalb County DFCS (90‑Day Assignment)

Position Summary
The PRN Foster Care Case Manager provides investigative, supportive, and comprehensive case management services for children in foster care within DeKalb County and surrounding metro Atlanta areas. This role ensures child safety, permanency, and well‑being, while supporting families, foster parents, and collaborating with DFCS and community partners. Work is performed under general supervision and requires timely responses, strong documentation, and consistent engagement with children and families.Key ResponsibilitiesChild Safety & Investigations
- Respond promptly to screened‑in reports of alleged child maltreatment.
- Conduct face‑to‑face assessments to identify and address safety concerns.
- Develop and implement immediate safety plans when risks are identified.
- Perform diligent search efforts when families cannot be located.
Case Management & Documentation
- Provide ongoing case management for children in foster care.
- Document all case activities within DFCS policy timeframes.
- Prepare reports, assessments, and legal documentation as required.
- Implement Solution Based Casework (SBC) throughout case planning.
Family Engagement & Support
- Partner with children and parents to develop Family Functioning Agreements, Action Plans, and Family Plans.
- Complete genograms to identify family support networks.
- Promote positive, nurturing relationships between children and biological families beyond visitation.
Foster Parent Support
- Identify and support the needs of foster parents, including physical, educational, and behavioral health needs of children.
- Ensure foster homes meet safety and licensing standards.
- Assist with corrective action plans when necessary.
Placement & Permanency
- Establish permanency goals for each child.
- Ensure placements are stable and aligned with permanency objectives.
- Make concerted efforts to achieve permanency in accordance with the Adoption and Safe Families Act.
- Ensure siblings are placed together unless separation is necessary for safety or well‑being.
- Maintain children’s connections to their community, school, faith, and extended family.
Collaboration & Community Coordination
- Coordinate services such as medical, educational, mental/behavioral health, and therapy.
- Serve as liaison between DFCS, foster families, schools, clinicians, and community partners.
- Conduct home visits and monitoring to ensure safety, permanency, and well‑being.
Professional Expectations
- Utilize personal vehicle for work‑related travel, including transporting children.
- Participate in after‑hours on‑call rotation as needed.
- Embrace ongoing learning and professional development opportunities.
- Work primarily in the office; telework permitted for documentation when submitted timely.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- HIPAA certification (provided if not already obtained).
