We are growing and are expanding our IV team. Our current opening is for an Experienced and Certified IV Technician. Qualified candidates will have at least 2 years of IV Pharmacy Technician experience. This is a Full Time ON SITE position, and all shifts require rotating weekends and holidays. The shifts are as follows: 3 PM -11:30 PM Monday through Friday, and when scheduled on weekends, the shift is 10:30 AM- 7 PM.
Position Description:
- IV mixing/compounding procedures, and processing patient information in the software system.
- Perform sanitation and maintenance of the IV Hood and infusion equipment in accordance with USP 797 Standards.
- Prepares labels, prescriptions, compounding/mixing worksheets, and completes and maintains product lot numbers and expiration dates.
- Generates delivery/pick slips under the supervision of the Pharmacist. Picks and prepares supplies.
- Ensures IV Pump log/information is kept current
- Performs other tasks as assigned
- Adheres to all pertinent local, state, and federal pharmacy regulations.
- Communicates with nursing personnel in facilities & maintains a phone log that includes the date/time of the call & the name of the facility nurse.
Requirements:
- Certified Pharmacy Technician with a valid IL Pharmacy Tech license
- A minimum of 2 years of IV experience
- Ability to cover required shifts
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Familiar with pharmacy software, order entry, and interpreting orders
- Recent IV experience in a pharmacy environment
