The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for executing the daily movement of freight secured by our Account Managers. This position ensures every shipment is covered, monitored, and delivered with exceptional service while maximizing profitability and protecting the customer experience.
You won’t be responsible for selling freight or managing customer accounts. Instead, you’ll partner with our Account Managers by finding capacity, coordinating shipments, solving transportation challenges, and ensuring flawless execution from pickup to delivery.

Primary Responsibilities
Freight Execution
- Cover customer shipments using Xtreme assets whenever possible.
- Source and negotiate with qualified carrier partners when outside capacity is required.
- Ensure all freight is covered on time and within margin expectations.
- Monitor shipments from pickup through delivery.
Carrier Coordination
- Build relationships with reliable carrier partners.
- Negotiate competitive transportation rates.
- Verify carrier qualifications and compliance.
- Expand and maintain a dependable carrier network.
Shipment Management
- Schedule pickups and deliveries.
- Track shipments and provide timely updates to Account Managers.
- Quickly resolve service issues and transportation delays.
- Maintain accurate shipment documentation within McLeod.
Team Collaboration
- Work directly with Account Managers to execute customer freight.
- Coordinate with Dispatch, Operations, and Customer Service to ensure seamless execution.
- Help identify opportunities to utilize Xtreme trucks before outsourcing freight.
- Support continuous improvement in service, efficiency, and profitability.
Qualifications
- Transportation, dispatch, logistics, or brokerage experience preferred.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and solve problems quickly.
- Detail-oriented with strong follow-through.
- McLeod experience is a plus.
