Mechanic
Greenleaf, WI | $27–$32/hr + $2 shift differential | Full-time | 2nd Shift (2:30pm – 11:00pm)
About the Role
This role supports the maintenance and reliability of a renewable natural gas (RNG) facility that processes agricultural materials into energy. You’ll work hands-on with a mix of mechanical, electrical, and process equipment to keep operations running safely and efficiently.
This is a great opportunity for someone with strong mechanical skills who enjoys troubleshooting, working independently, and being part of a team that supports sustainable energy production. The position includes participation in an on-call rotation and may require occasional work outside of normal hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and non-routine maintenance on mechanical and process equipment
- Troubleshoot and repair pumps, compressors, motors, valves, and related systems
- Inspect equipment and complete preventative maintenance tasks on schedule
- Maintain accurate records of work completed, parts used, and time spent
- Work closely with operations to minimize downtime and ensure safe repairs
- Operate equipment such as skid steers, loaders, forklifts, and utility vehicles
- Complete work in confined spaces or elevated areas as needed
- Follow all safety procedures including lockout/tagout and hazard controls
- Assist with maintaining facility systems including piping, tanks, and structures
- Participate in training related to safety, equipment, and company procedures
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of maintenance experience OR a degree in a related field (mechanical, electrical, industrial)
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
- Experience working with rotating equipment (pumps, compressors, motors, valves)
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings, diagrams, and manuals
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office and maintenance systems)
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to work on-call and live within 45 minutes of the facility
- Comfortable working in industrial environments, including outdoor conditions
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and perform physical work (climbing, bending, lifting)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with PLCs, VFDs, or SCADA systems
- Familiarity with instrumentation, controls, or low-voltage systems
- Experience operating heavy equipment or utility vehicles
- Knowledge of industrial safety practices (confined space, electrical work, hot work)
