The Program Specialist is responsible for coordinating and managing programs funded through a grant, including case management, ASL class scheduling, and community outreach.
Position Overview:
- Program Management: coordinate and oversee grant programs.
- Case Management: manage client intake, assessment, referrals, advocacy, documentation, and follow-up to ensure clients receive individualized services and support.
- ASL Classes: coordinate scheduling, curriculum development, and delivery of ASL classes.
- Community Outreach: build partnerships throughout the 12-county service area, represent KCD at community events, and increase awareness of available programs and services.
- Grant Administration: monitor program outcomes, maintain compliance with grant requirements, assist with program budget, and prepare monthly grant reports.

- Communication: strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to word effectively with clients, staff, community partners, and stakeholders.
- Organization: strong documentation, recordkeeping, reporting, and organization skills.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in social work, human services, nonprofit management, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of program management experience, preferably in a nonprofit setting.
- Strong understanding of the needs and experience of individuals who are Deaf, DeafBlind, DeafDisabled, and Hard of Hearing.
- Ability and willingness to travel throughout KCD's service area.
- Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) or willingness to learn ASL throughout tenure required.
