Position Summary and Responsibilities
The position of Senior I&C Engineer requires eight to ten years of experience in the design/development of industrial control systems preferably in the water/wastewater industry. Projects assigned typically include the following:
1. Develop project proposal, engineering budget and schedule
2. Site assessment and determination of needed instrumentation/SCADA upgrades
3. Review of existing project documents – P&ID, system architecture, electrical drawings
4. Coordination with client on specific needs
5. Document findings – Write assessment or report of existing conditions and recommendations
6. Design/development of project drawings, including P&ID, system architecture, loop diagrams, installation details
7. Create project specifications, including instrumentation, networking, control narrative strategies, software and hardware requirements for SCADA PLC and HMI systems
8. Quality Control/Quality Assurance of project documents
9. Conduct project meetings with client
10. Review and comment on project submittals
11. Coordination with electrical engineering department
12. Assist and mentor Junior Engineers in specification creation, design reviews, and construction feasibility of designs
Desired Skills and Experience
The candidate should have the following skills:
1. Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in Texas
2. Manage project budgets and schedules
3. Design of construction documents listed above
4. Write Technical Memoranda based on site assessment
5. Drawing/PDF markup
6. Design relay schematics (motor control)
7. Wide Area Network (WAN) design, including radio and cellular communications
8. Fiber optic cable specification
9. Control panel design
10. VFD design/interface
Preferred skills:
1. PLC and SCADA HMI development and creation of PLC I/O lists
2. AutoCAD
3. Physical and cybersecurity assessment and design
