Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end close processes, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Responsibilities
- Prepare and record journal entries, ensuring accuracy and adherence to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and internal policies.
- Perform account reconciliations for the general ledger, balance sheet, accounts payable, and accounts receivable to maintain precise financial data.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, including financial statement preparation and variance analysis.
- Support internal controls related to SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance by documenting processes and testing controls as required.
- Manage data entry tasks using various accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Workday, UltiPro, ADP, Kronos, Ceridian, PeopleSoft, and Paychex to ensure timely processing of transactions.
- Conduct detailed account analysis to identify discrepancies or irregularities and recommend corrective actions.
- Collaborate with external auditors during audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations of financial data.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or progress toward certification is a plus.
- Proven experience in corporate accounting or governmental accounting environments.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP principles and technical accounting concepts.
- Hands-on experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Workday, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with payroll management systems like Paychex or Ceridian is preferred.
- Ability to perform detailed data entry with high accuracy (10 key typing skills).
- Excellent analytical skills with a solid understanding of financial concepts including debits & credits, journal entries, account reconciliation, and double-entry bookkeeping.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
