Are you passionate about safety, mentorship, and the open road? Join our team as a CDL Instructor and help shape the next generation of professional drivers. In this hands-on role, you'll deliver classroom and behind-the-wheel training to prepare individuals who hold their Commercial Driver's License (CDL) for a Passenger Endorsement.
You'll be part of a collaborative safety team committed to high standards, regulatory compliance, and empowering our students with the skills they need to thrive.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Training & Instruction
- Lead engaging classroom sessions on FMCSA regulations, safety, defensive driving, and compliance topics.
- Provide behind-the-wheel instruction on vehicle control, safe operation, and pre-trip inspections.
- Guide students through the CDL testing process, including written and road skills exams.
- Keep training materials up to date with industry standards, technology, and safety regulations.
Student Mentorship
- Evaluate student progress and conduct road skill assessments.
- Offer personalized coaching and feedback to support successful program completion.
- Create a positive, inclusive learning environment for all students.
Safety & Compliance
- Align all training with federal, state, and company safety standards.
- Collaborate with Safety, Maintenance, and Operations to ensure consistency with field expectations.
- Maintain training vehicles and equipment in safe working condition.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of transportation or safety leadership experience
- Valid Class A or B CDL with passenger and air brake endorsements
- A clean driving record (no DUIs, major violations, or serious infractions)
- A current medical card and ability to pass DOT drug screening
- Deep knowledge of CDL testing requirements and processes
- A passion for teaching and helping others grow professionally
Preferred Qualifications
- Instructional experience or adult learning training background
- Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, tablets, and telematics systems (e.g., Samsara)
PAY & BENEFITS
- Hourly + (commensurate with experience)

YOUR SCHEDULE:
This is a full-time, non-exempt role. Schedules vary and may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, or multiple-day shifts. Flexibility is essential.
You'll work in both classroom and vehicle-based environments, sometimes outdoors and in varying weather conditions.
