Job Summary
The Master’s Level Clinician provides clinical assessment, treatment, crisis intervention, and care coordination services for individuals receiving mental health treatment across outpatient, crisis, and inpatient settings. This role conducts biopsychosocial assessments, develops individualized treatment plans, provides individual, group, and family therapy, and collaborates with interdisciplinary treatment teams to support recovery, stabilization, and successful transition to community-based care. The Clinician maintains timely, accurate, and complete clinical documentation and responds appropriately to psychiatric emergencies and safety concerns.
Responsibilities
- Conducts initial and ongoing biopsychosocial assessments, mental status examinations, and risk assessments.
- Provides individual, group, and family therapy services using evidence-based and trauma-informed approaches.
- Develops, implements, and updates individualized, strengths-based treatment plans in collaboration with individuals served, families (as appropriate), and treatment providers.
- Monitors and documents progress toward treatment goals and discharge planning objectives.
- Assesses and responds to suicide risk, crisis situations, trauma symptoms, and signs of abuse, neglect, or abandonment, utilizing appropriate reporting procedures.
- Maintains current knowledge of Florida Baker Act statutes, forms, and procedures.
- Collaborates with psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, nursing staff, case managers, and other interdisciplinary team members.
- Participates in treatment team meetings, rounds, and discharge planning activities.
- Coordinates referrals and connections to community-based services to support continuity of care.
- Obtains collateral information, releases of information, and consents as indicated.
- Completes all required clinical documentation, authorizations, and related records in a timely, accurate, and confidential manner.
- Assists with service delivery across programs or locations as needed based on organizational needs.

Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or a related Human Services field from an accredited college or university required.
- Minimum of six (6) months of experience working with individuals with mental illness required; one (1) year preferred.
- Experience working with adult, adolescent, or child behavioral health populations preferred.
- Valid Florida Registered Intern credential (IMH, ISW, or IMT) required within 90 days of hire for eligible positions.
- Florida licensure (LMHC, LCSW, or LMFT) preferred.
- Certification in CFARS preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, email, internet use, and electronic health record systems required.
- Must demonstrate proficiency in the MHRC EHR System within three months of employment.
- Ability to make sound, independent clinical decisions, including recognizing and responding to risks, emergencies, and psychiatric crises.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with individuals served, families, caregivers, community providers, supervisory staff, and other healthcare professionals.
Position Details
Full-time and PRN opportunities may be available depending on program needs. Typical full-time schedules include Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with additional evening, weekend, or holiday coverage available in select programs.
