Working as a Safety Technician involves protecting people by making sure that risks in the workplace are properly controlled. These duties include;

Conduct safety audits of ships, ship unit sections, and the physical plant as assigned.

Record and Audit results in electronic format on an iPad utilizing the TruQC Program.

Identify and correct unsafe workplace conditions and/or individual unsafe acts / behaviors.

Demonstrated ability to handle conflict, follow direction and decisions making.

Demonstrate knowledge of behavioral safety concepts, participate and guide Safety Action Teams / Committees.

Ability to communicate with large groups of employees.

Train employees on proper use of fall protection systems, mobile and overhead equipment, and respirator use / fit testing, and hazard awareness training.

Perform New Employee Orientation.

Communicate EHS policy and procedure effectively with personnel at all levels.
The pay range for this position ranges from $28.39/hr - $29.48/hr.
