Job Summary
The Sit-Down Forklift Operator is responsible for safely operating a sit-down forklift to transport mattresses, components, and raw materials throughout the manufacturing and warehouse areas. This role supports production flow, shipping and receiving, and inventory organization while maintaining safety, quality, and efficiency standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate a sit-down forklift to move, load, unload, and stage mattresses and materials
- Load and unload trailers in a safe and efficient manner
- Supply production lines with required materials to meet daily production goals
- Stack, organize, and store finished goods and raw materials in designated locations
- Verify materials and quantities against paperwork and production schedules
- Assist with inventory control, product staging, and warehouse organization
- Follow all safety procedures, OSHA guidelines, and company policies
- Perform daily forklift inspections and report maintenance or safety issues
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Work closely with production, shipping, and warehouse teams to support operations
Qualifications
- Previous sit-down forklift operating experience required
- Ability to safely handle large, bulky, and heavy products (mattresses)
- Knowledge of warehouse and manufacturing safety practices
- Ability to read and follow work instructions and shipping documents
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Forklift certification preferred (or ability to obtain)
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shift
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

- Manufacturing and warehouse environment
- May require overtime, weekends, or flexible scheduling based on production needs
