We have a long term job opening for a CAD Drafter I who will be assigned to the ExxonMobil oil refinery in Channahon, IL. Must have AutoCAD course work equivalent to an Associate Degree from an accredited institution and a strong understanding of AutoCAD.
SUMMARY: Develop and maintain 2D CAD drawings. Drawing types are Process Flow Diagrams, Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams, General Layouts, Piping Isometrics, and Piping Plans, Sections and Details. There will be occasional field walk downs to verify that drawings conform to as built configurations. In addition to technical ability, a candidate must demonstrate sound communication and interpersonal skills and must be willing to learn. Relevant work experience is a plus. You will be trained in ExxonMobil procedures and best practices regardless of experience level. Pay is $27.00 to $35.00 per hour depending on experience and background. Overtime premium is 50% above straight time rate. There are no benefits beyond 40 hours paid time off. There is an 8 hour shift with flexibility on start time.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Transform complex sketches of piping, vessels, and related equipment into CAD drawings. Perform or assist in performing field verifications of drawings. Develop computer generated drawings, isometrics, details, plans, schedules, and data sheets. Revise drawings based on instructions from engineers. Communicate effectively and work with other members of the design team. Interface with management across disciplines. Provide document control support, database administration, and progress reporting. Keep supervisors informed of progress, deviations, and execution concerns.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Associate's degree in AutoCAD or equivalent coursework from a technical school is required. Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and changes in priorities. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Read, write, and speak fluent English, especially as it applies to technical communications. Must pass a drug test and background check.
