Since 1981, the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia and the Eastern Shore (Foodbank) has provided more than 400 million meals to neighbors in need. Serving eleven cities and counties where one in ten individuals faces food insecurity, we play a vital role in the fight against hunger by collecting, storing, and distributing nutritious food. Position Overview
The Western Tidewater Hub Coordinator serves as additional support to the Western Tidewater Branch Manager. This position supports the daily operations of the Western Tidewater facility by assisting partner agencies, processing orders and related documentation, maintaining inventory and warehouse organization, supporting food quality and safety standards, and coordinating volunteer activities, and assisting with the food hub. This role works collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and community partners to ensure efficient warehouse operations, accurate order fulfillment, and excellent customer service while advancing the Foodbank's mission and organizational goals.
What You'll Do:
· Support Partner Agencies: Assist agencies with order pickups, appointment scheduling, documentation, invoicing, and customer service to ensure a smooth distribution process.
· Keep Operations Running: Help maintain organized warehouse operations through inventory management, product rotation, quality assurance, and accurate record keeping.
· Coordinate Volunteers: Welcome, train, and supervise volunteers while promoting a safe and productive environment.
· Support Community Distributions: Assist with Food Hub operations, backpack program deliveries, product stocking, and active food distributions.
· Maintain Food Safety Standards: Monitor cooler and freezer temperatures, complete sanitation logs, support inventory accuracy, and help maintain compliance with food safety and warehouse standards.
· Be a Team Player: Collaborate with warehouse staff, partner agency services, volunteers, and community partners to help advance the Foodbank’s mission.
What We're Looking For:
- High school diploma or GED
- Two or more years of warehouse, logistics, customer service, or related experience.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office and learning inventory management systems.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities while working independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to obtain Food Safety Manager certification and warehouse equipment certifications after hire.
- Preferred Qualifications:
o Experience operating forklifts or electric pallet jacks.
o Experience with warehouse inventory systems such as CERES or Agency Express (AE3)
o Previous experience working with volunteers or nonprofit organizations.
o Customer service and data entry experience.
o Food Safety Certification

Working Hours:
- Monday through Friday; day shift
- Occasional evenings or weekends may be required to support distributions, volunteers, or special events.
Physical Requirements
This position includes regular warehouse activity and requires standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 50 pounds, operating warehouse equipment, and working in cooler and freezer environments while maintaining a safe workplace.
