Herrin-Gear INFINITI is seeking an experienced ASE Certified Master Automotive Technician to join our service team in Jackson, Mississippi.
This is a full-time, Monday–Friday position designed for an accomplished automotive technician who takes pride in accurate diagnostics, quality workmanship, efficiency, and continuous technical development.
We are looking for a true diagnostic and repair professional—not simply a parts replacer.
The ideal candidate is comfortable diagnosing complex electrical, drivability, mechanical, HVAC, network, and vehicle-system concerns and has the experience necessary to accurately determine root causes before recommending repairs.
COMPENSATION & EARNING OPPORTUNITY
- $38–$50 per flat-rate hour
- Pay based on experience, ASE certifications, manufacturer certifications, diagnostic ability, and demonstrated production
- Approximately $79,000–$150,000+ annual earning potential depending on productivity and flagged hours

- Monday through Friday
- 7:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m.
- No Saturdays
- No Sundays
- Full-time, in-person position in Jackson, Mississippi
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, electronic, drivability, HVAC, and network-related vehicle concerns.
- Perform maintenance and repairs according to manufacturer procedures and dealership standards.
- Use professional diagnostic equipment, scan tools, service information, wiring diagrams, test equipment, and manufacturer resources to accurately identify root causes.
- Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining high standards for workmanship and safety.
- Perform thorough vehicle inspections and identify legitimate maintenance and repair needs.
- Document diagnostic findings, test results, causes, corrections, and repair recommendations clearly and accurately.
- Communicate effectively with Service Advisors regarding diagnostic findings, repair recommendations, estimated repair time, and parts requirements.
- Work closely with other technicians and dealership leadership to maintain an efficient shop workflow.
- Assist less-experienced technicians when appropriate and contribute to the technical development of the team.
- Follow manufacturer warranty documentation and repair procedures.
- Maintain dealership and manufacturer training requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Perform quality-control checks before vehicle completion.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Current ASE Master Automobile Technician certification strongly preferred.
- Significant professional automotive repair experience required.
- Strong diagnostic ability.
- Demonstrated experience diagnosing electrical and electronic vehicle concerns.
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and manufacturer service information.
- Strong mechanical repair skills.
- Professional dealership experience preferred.
- Manufacturer certification is highly desirable.
- Nissan or INFINITI experience is helpful, but not required.
- Ability to consistently produce in a flat-rate environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to fixing vehicles correctly.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Professional attitude and ability to work effectively with Advisors, technicians, Parts personnel, and management.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
ASE CERTIFICATIONS
Ideal candidates will hold current ASE Master Automobile Technician status, including:
- A1 – Engine Repair
- A2 – Automatic Transmission / Transaxle
- A3 – Manual Drive Train & Axles
- A4 – Suspension & Steering
- A5 – Brakes
- A6 – Electrical / Electronic Systems
- A7 – Heating & Air Conditioning
- A8 – Engine Performance
Additional ASE certifications, manufacturer certifications, hybrid/EV training, and advanced diagnostic credentials are highly valued.
