Directly promote the Girl Scout program to potential volunteers and girls to ensure the development, extension and maintenance of girl and adult membership within the council’s jurisdiction.
Host school or community registration events to recruit girls to join Girl Scout troops and adults to volunteer as troop leaders or troop committee members.
Lead first troop meetings with interested families in areas necessary where leadership hasn't been formed yet, and assist new troop leaders with their first troop meeting if requested.
Clearly communicate to potential members the Girl Scouts mission, the Girl Scout Leadership Experience, and the benefits of being a Girl Scout member.
Work as a positive and contributing member of the membership services team to maintain high customer service to girls and adult volunteers.
Other duties as assigned to promote the successful implementation of Girl Scouts of Manitou’s goals/objectives.
Contribute to the affirmative action/equal employment opportunities goals of the council by working with volunteers to reflect the interests, values, and needs of persons of diverse cultures, religions, and ability levels in the development of recruitment and retention programs for girls and in the recruitment, selection and placement of adult volunteers.
Assure volunteer and girl compliance with Girl Scouts of the U.S.A. and Girl Scouts of Manitou Council policies and standards.
Meet with and promote Girl Scouting to potential volunteers and girls.
Work actively as a member of the membership service team, especially in the distribution, interpretation and promotion of materials provided to girls and volunteers from all areas of work and in linking community resources to council support services.
Work will primarily be throughout the months of August, September, October, and November, however you may be called on for work other times throughout the year. Hours will vary week to week.
Maintain necessary records, such as event attendance and results.
