Duties
- Safely operate tractor-trailers and other commercial vehicles, including manual transmission trucks, across assigned routes.
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or roll-off trucks, ensuring secure handling of cargo.
- Deliver goods to various locations while maintaining adherence to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to identify maintenance needs or safety concerns.
- Manage route driving efficiently, optimizing delivery schedules and ensuring timely arrivals.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage logs, and vehicle inspections in compliance with company policies.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate pickups and deliveries, providing excellent customer service.
Skills
- Proven experience in truck driving with a focus on freight transportation and route management.
- Proficiency in operating manual transmission trucks and handling, flatbeds, roll offs, or tractor trailers.
- Strong knowledge of load & unload procedures, including the use of forklifts when necessary.
- Ability to drive tractor-trailers safely over long distances while adhering to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations.
- Familiarity with commercial driving requirements such as load securing, safety protocols, and vehicle maintenance checks.
- Excellent navigation skills for route planning and driving efficiency.

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
