Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Piano Teacher to inspire our small 9th-grade class. This is a 2-day-a-week, 3-hour-per-day position that includes 1:40 hours of class and 1 hour of prep time each day. The position can be as an employee or as contracted services (1099)
Duties
- Design and implement a comprehensive piano curriculum
- Deliver engaging lessons that incorporate music theory, technique, sight-reading, and performance skills
- Develop creative lesson plans.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively to ensure a focused and respectful learning environment
- Assess student progress, written and practical, regularly and provide constructive feedback to motivate improvement
- Organize recitals, performances, or showcases to celebrate student achievements and build confidence
- Collaborate with parents or guardians to discuss progress, address concerns, and set future objectives
Experience
- Proven experience teaching piano or other musical instruments in classroom or private settings
- Strong background in curriculum development and lesson planning for teens
- Experience working with children and youth programs, demonstrating patience and adaptability in teaching styles
- Skills in behavior management and classroom experience to foster a positive learning atmosphere
This position is not online; it is in-person teaching.
