Position Summary
The Cheer Coach is responsible for teaching age‑appropriate cheers, chants, basic motions, and team spirit activities to children ages 5–12 in a fun, encouraging, and safe recreational environment. This role focuses on building confidence, teamwork, and enthusiasm rather than advanced stunts or competitive cheer.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach basic cheer motions, cheers, chants, and simple routines suitable for beginner-level participants ages 5–12.
- Create weekly practice plans that promote skill development, teamwork, and positive sportsmanship.
- Lead engaging warm‑ups and stretching activities to ensure participant safety.
- Provide clear instruction and demonstrations tailored to various age groups and ability levels.
- Maintain a supportive and inclusive atmosphere where all participants feel encouraged.
- Supervise children at all times to ensure a safe practice environment.
- Communicate with parents, staff, and participants about schedules, expectations, and program updates.
- Model professionalism, positivity, and appropriate behavior for young athletes.
- Enforce recreational league rules and safety guidelines
Qualifications
- Experience working with children, ideally in a cheer, dance, recreation, or youth program setting.
- Basic knowledge of cheerleading motions, cheers, chants, and youth team organization.
- Strong communication, patience, and classroom‑management skills.
- Ability to create fun, structured lessons that keep children engaged.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Must be able to lead active sessions and demonstrate beginner cheer techniques.
Schedule & Work Environment
- Days vary based on league programming needs.
- Typical hours fall between 3:30 PM and 6:30 PM.
- Part-time, seasonal or session-based depending on league programming.
- Work takes place at local recreation facilities or community centers.
- May include occasional weekend or evening sessions depending on league needs.

Pay: $20.00 - $40.00 per hour
