Job Summary:
- We are seeking an experienced Aeronautical Engineer to support Advanced Development Programs, where you will contribute to the design, integration, and development of next-generation weapon systems.
- In this role, you will lead multidisciplinary engineering efforts, perform system integration activities, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver advanced aerospace solutions from concept through production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead system integration and design synthesis across aerodynamics, structures, propulsion, thermodynamics, electronics, controls, and actuation systems.
- Perform and support multidisciplinary trade studies to optimize system performance, manufacturability, cost, and overall program objectives.
- Develop and refine airframe structural designs using metallic and composite materials.
- Create, modify, and maintain engineering models and designs using CATIA V5 and/or 3DEXPERIENCE (3DX).
- Coordinate with manufacturing, fabrication, assembly, quality, Material Review Board (MRB), and supply chain teams to resolve production and engineering issues.
- Prepare and present technical documentation, engineering reports, design reviews, and customer presentations.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers while fostering collaboration across engineering disciplines.
- Support design validation, production readiness, and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the product lifecycle.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Aerospace, Aeronautical, Mechanical, or a related Engineering discipline.
- 10+ years of experience in airframe structure design and structural analysis.
- 10+ years of experience designing metallic and/or composite aircraft structures.
- 10+ years of experience using CATIA V5 and/or 3DEXPERIENCE (3DX) for aerospace design.
- Strong understanding of structural design principles, system integration, and engineering best practices.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
- Experience supporting Material Review Board (MRB) activities and production engineering.
- Experience performing hand stress analysis.
- Experience collaborating with suppliers, manufacturing, and external customers.
- Experience with hypersonic boost-glide systems or other advanced aerospace platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary engineering efforts in a fast-paced development environment.
