The Director of Federal Sales will have the rare opportunity to shape the company’s federal strategy, build and lead a high-performing sales organization, influence major acquisition and partnership decisions, and drive the transition of emerging technology into large-scale, long-term government programs. Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience selling products or services into the federal market space, with at least 4 years in a senior sales leadership, capture director, or federal BD leadership role
- Demonstrated track record of transitioning organizations from early-stage federal innovation wins (SBIR, OTA, pilots) to program-of-record competition
- Deep working knowledge of federal acquisition pathways; FAR/DFARS, OTA, IDIQ, SBIR/STTR, and POR development cycles
- Proven success building a prime relationship that resulted in active teaming agreements and awarded task orders
- Technical fluency in cybersecurity sufficient to hold credible conversations with program managers CISOs, and standard-adjacent technical evaluators
- Working knowledge of DoD cybersecurity compliance
- Active security clearance (Secrete or above) or clearable
Nice to have:
• Direct experience with DIU, AFWERX, Army Futures Command, or other innovation pathways
- Existing relationships within DoD acquisition community; PEOs, program offices, or prime BD leadership
- Experience in cryptography, post-quantum security, or critical infrastructure cybersecurity sectors
- Missel Defence, SpaceCom, Navy background
Responsibilities:
- Own federal revenue growth across DoD, Civilian, Intelligence Community, and allied government markets.
- Lead and scale a high-performing federal sales team, driving accountability and execution.
- Develop agency-specific growth strategies and prioritize opportunities across key programs and commands.
- Build senior-level relationships with government stakeholders and influence opportunities before solicitation release.
- Oversee capture strategy, bid/no-bid decisions, and proposal development processes.
- Manage a 12–24-month opportunity pipeline aligned to revenue objectives.
- Ensure rigorous qualifications, tracking, and governance of opportunities.
- Lead executive pipeline reviews and deliver accurate revenue forecasting.
- Direct federal acquisition strategies across SBIR/STTR, OTA, IDIQ, and Program of Record pathways.
- Convert prototype, SBIR, and TACFI awards into long-term production and follow-on contracts.
- Collaborate with strategic partners and Tier 1 primes to expand market access and program participation.
- Provide acquisition intelligence, agency insights, and competitive positioning to support partner success.
- Build relationships with organizations such as Defense Innovation Unit, AFWERX, and Army Futures Command to drive demand generation.
- Align QuSecure’s solutions with federal cybersecurity and post-quantum cryptography mandates.
- Translate emerging government requirements into pipeline opportunities and competitive advantages.
